Stuff and Ramblings

A place for me to share my 'stuff' and have a ramble! ......It does what it says on the tin :-)

Well how typical is that , having eventually got around to setting up my blog our modem packed in. Then when I next tried to update my blog - I wasn't allowed to log on.... that seems to have now been rectified and I'm ready to start....again!

With lots of retirements at my childrens' schools I have been busy making retirement cards but only managed to capture scans of 2 (the others were too 'lumpy') and my camera batteries decided to give up the ghost so taking photos wasn't an option.

Here is one of the 4 that I needed to make for my son's teachers at primary school.

I used papers from chatterboxinc and doddlebug design and the acetate wording was made on WordArt.

and this is the one that my daughter needed for her (male) History teacher ....it is soooo much easier to make cards for females!

Again I made an acetate overlay using WordArt (although the colours haven't scanned well)and SEI papers. Had I been really organised I would have made a co-ordinating card for his wife, who was one of the teachers retiring at my son's school - as it was she had a rather fetching pink 'number'.

Oops - can't upload anymore so will try to do a few more pics later.

These style of cards are a bit of a departure from me as I usually incorporate stamping and 'messy' stuff on my work so the 'clean & crisp look' as I call it, is still in the development stage for my own cards.....I design them them for my workshops but it's different when you want to do them for yourself isn't it?

Fingers crossed now as on my preview this is all badly spaced and I don't know why - I shall just hope that it is displayed properly when I hit 'publish'. If not, I promise that I'll try harder next time. Ah - just had a twiddle on the HTML edit and I *think* that it's OK. Phew and this is just Blogging Basics!

After much stalling I have finally jumped in the deep end and created my blog... well the embryonic version anyway - it may take a little while to have anything half decent here! At least then I'll have a proper home to start posting some of my 'stuff'
